These terms cover your use of Read2Me. By using the app, you agree to them. They're written to be short and readable - because that's the kind of software we make.
1. What Read2Me is
Read2Me is an on-device reader that speaks your documents aloud using Apple's built-in voices. You import PDFs, EPUBs, DOCX, and text files, and Read2Me reads them to you. It is a personal listening tool, not a publishing, storage, or content-distribution service.
2. Your content is yours
You keep all rights to the documents you import. Read2Me claims no ownership of them and never uploads them to us. You are responsible for only importing content that you own or have the right to use.
Protected content. Read2Me cannot open DRM-protected files such as Kindle or Apple Books titles. Please respect copyright and licensing when choosing what to import.
3. Reading is provided "as is"
Text extraction, on-device OCR, and text-to-speech are powerful but imperfect. Scanned pages, unusual layouts, tables, or complex formatting may be read inaccurately, out of order, or skipped. Read2Me is meant for convenient listening - do not rely on it as the sole source for critical, legal, medical, or financial reading.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't use Read2Me to infringe anyone's copyright or other rights.
- Don't attempt to reverse engineer, tamper with, or disrupt the app.
- Don't use the app in any way that breaks applicable law.
5. Apple services and third parties
Read2Me relies on features provided by Apple, including system voices, Personal Voice, on-device Vision OCR, the Files picker, and optional iCloud sync. Your use of those features is also governed by Apple's terms and policies. When you export a backup or share content out of the app, the destination you choose has its own terms. We're not responsible for third-party services.
6. No warranty and limitation of liability
Read2Me is provided without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. OceanWithin Studio is not liable for lost data, missed information, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app. Keep your own backups of anything important - Read2Me includes a backup export to help.
7. Changes
We may update the app and these terms over time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new date. Continuing to use Read2Me after an update means you accept the revised terms.
