Welcome to TerraSignal. These Terms of Use explain the rules for using the TerraSignal mobile app, related websites, and related services.

By using TerraSignal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. What TerraSignal Does

TerraSignal provides earthquake monitoring, watch zone tools, seismic activity summaries, map views, and alert-related features based on publicly available seismic data sources.

TerraSignal is designed to help you stay more aware of seismic activity near places you care about, such as your home, family locations, travel destinations, coastal zones, and other saved Watch Zones.

TerraSignal may include features such as:

• Earthquake activity dashboards
• Watch Zones
• Magnitude-based alert settings
• Push notifications
• Map views
• Tsunami advisory indicators where available
• Data source and reliability information
• Future hazard-related alert layers as they become available

TerraSignal is an informational tool. It is not an emergency response service.

2. Not an Emergency Service

3. Data Accuracy and Delays

Earthquake and hazard data can change quickly. Initial earthquake reports may be automatic, incomplete, delayed, revised, or corrected as more information becomes available. Magnitude, depth, location, timing, advisory status, and other details may change after the first report.

TerraSignal may display data from sources such as public seismic agencies, tsunami warning centers, and other trusted public data providers. However, TerraSignal does not control those data sources and cannot guarantee that all data will be accurate, complete, current, or available at all times.

TerraSignal may sometimes:

• Miss an event
• Delay an alert
• Show revised information after an initial report
• Display conflicting source information
• Fail to receive data from a source
• Fail to send or deliver a notification
• Show no advisory when official sources later update their status

You agree that TerraSignal is provided for informational awareness only.

4. Push Notifications

TerraSignal may send push notifications based on your Watch Zones, alert settings, location preferences, magnitude thresholds, source availability, and other app settings.

Push notifications depend on many factors outside TerraSignal's full control, including:

• Apple Push Notification service availability
• Device settings
• Network connectivity
• Battery settings
• Focus mode or Do Not Disturb settings
• Notification permissions
• Server availability
• Data source availability
• App configuration
• Regional data delays

TerraSignal cannot guarantee that push notifications will always arrive, arrive on time, or contain complete information. Do not rely on TerraSignal as your only source of emergency information.

5. Watch Zones and Location Features

TerraSignal allows you to create Watch Zones for places you care about. You may create Watch Zones manually, by searching for a region, or by dropping a pin.

Location access is optional. If you allow location access, TerraSignal may use it to show distance from you or distance from a saved home location. You can disable location access at any time through your device settings.

You are responsible for choosing appropriate Watch Zones, alert thresholds, and notification settings.

6. User Responsibility

By using TerraSignal, you agree that you are responsible for your own decisions and actions.

You should not rely only on TerraSignal to decide whether to evacuate, shelter, travel, return home, enter a building, approach a coastline, or take any other safety-related action.

Always use your own judgment and follow official instructions from local authorities and emergency services.

7. Free and Paid Features

TerraSignal may offer free features and paid features. Paid features may include, but are not limited to:

• Additional Watch Zones
• Custom alert radius options
• Enhanced alert controls
• Advanced map or source features
• Critical alert options
• Future hazard expansion layers
• Other premium features added over time

Pricing, feature availability, trials, subscriptions, and lifetime purchase options may change over time. If purchases are offered through Apple's App Store, billing, refunds, cancellations, and subscription management are handled by Apple according to Apple's terms and policies.

8. Future Features and Planned Coverage

TerraSignal may mention planned or future features, such as additional hazard layers, enhanced data sources, volcanic activity, fire warnings, wind or storm alerts, hurricane awareness, tornado alerts, or expanded regional coverage.

Planned features are not guaranteed. They may change, be delayed, be limited by data availability, or never be released. TerraSignal will only enable certain data sources or alert layers when they are considered reliable enough for the intended use.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse TerraSignal or related services. You may not:

• Attempt to interfere with TerraSignal's servers or systems
• Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or abuse the service
• Use TerraSignal to create panic, misinformation, or false emergency claims
• Attempt unauthorized access to developer tools, debug systems, APIs, or private endpoints
• Use TerraSignal in a way that violates applicable laws or regulations

We may limit or disable access if we believe the service is being misused.

10. Intellectual Property

TerraSignal, including its name, design, interface, branding, icons, graphics, text, software, features, and related materials, is owned by OceanWithin Studio or its licensors.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reuse TerraSignal's branding, interface, code, content, or materials without written permission.

Public data displayed in TerraSignal may belong to the original data providers and may be subject to their own terms, licenses, and attribution requirements.

11. Third-Party Data and Links

TerraSignal may display links to third-party websites, official data providers, seismic agencies, map providers, tsunami warning sources, or other external resources.

These third-party resources are not controlled by TerraSignal. We are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, privacy practices, or policies. Your use of third-party websites or services is at your own risk.

Your use of TerraSignal is also governed by the TerraSignal Privacy Policy.

13. Disclaimers

TerraSignal is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent allowed by law, OceanWithin Studio makes no warranties or guarantees about TerraSignal, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy or completeness
• Timeliness or availability
• Reliability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Error-free or continuous operation
• Alert delivery
• Emergency usefulness

TerraSignal does not guarantee that you will receive alerts before, during, or after an earthquake or other hazard event.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, OceanWithin Studio and its owners, developers, partners, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for any damages, losses, injuries, claims, costs, or consequences arising from your use of TerraSignal or your reliance on TerraSignal.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Missed or delayed alerts
• Incorrect or revised data
• App or server outages
• Third-party data failures
• Notification failures
• Decisions made based on app information
• Property damage or personal injury
• Business loss or travel disruption
• Emotional distress
• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

Use TerraSignal as one awareness tool, not as your only safety system.

15. Changes to the App

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of TerraSignal at any time. Features may change as we improve the app, add coverage, remove unreliable sources, update alert logic, or respond to technical, legal, or data availability issues.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes, we may update the effective date above. Continued use of TerraSignal after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
